Early wedding celebration in Taipei

The big day will be held on 1st September in Vietnam but we had an early wedding celebration in Taipei during our previous trip with my Taiwanese colleagues :)

We played several of their so called “traditional Taiwanese wedding” games, which they stubbornly insisted, however when I inquired if any of them went through it during their wedding, none did. Yeah, right, traditional… some how to me it felt like “traditional Taiwanese pranks to play on foreign soon-to-be-wed couples”!

Standard of living in Vietnam is getting worst and worst, no thanks to the high inflation rate recorded to be at 27.04% last month. The price of consumer goods are way up and taxi service cost twice as much. Banks in the US are dropping like flies, oil and gold prices goes up and down like the tides on the shores, one have to wonder what will the future hold. When all seems to be lost one can always count on GOLD! Not as an investment but as an insurance against severe inflation/economic meltdown. (more…)

Buying and grabbing domain names

Domain bidding at Sedo

I was surprised when Snapnames (a domain drop catching service) sent me an email last week concerning a .org domain which I’ve backordered last year has dropped and was successfully captured. And since there was another person placing the same order the domain was entered in a private auction between us (the domain goes to the highest bidder and Snapnames earn more moolah!). Luckily there was no bidding war and I won with my default bid of $59. (more…)
